The Challenge

Create a distinctive pair of companion covers for Keith Jopling’s music-industry books, appealing to a broad adult audience while establishing a cohesive series identity.

The Solution

Develop a bold retro-inspired visual language combining limited colour palettes, oversized typography, geometric compositions and music-related imagery. Each cover uses the same underlying design system while introducing its own colour and visual metaphor.

The Result

A cohesive, highly recognisable series with enough visual consistency to work as a collection and enough individuality for each title to stand alone. The designs give the books a strong commercial presence while capturing the energy and cultural character of the music industry.
