The Challenge

The brief was to create a distinctive visual identity for an epic historical fantasy trilogy inspired by Persian art, while avoiding the character-led covers that dominate the genre.

The Solution

Drawing on Persian geometric patterns, floral motifs and symbolic references, I combined intricate typography with evolving colour palettes to capture the world of the story without relying on illustrated characters. The result is a visual identity that feels authentic to the setting while remaining unmistakably commercial.

Each cover stands confidently on its own while contributing to a cohesive series. The evolving colour palette creates instant recognition across the trilogy, giving it a distinctive shelf presence and a fresh visual identity within epic fantasy publishing.
